Be Spiritually Awake

Scripture Verses :

Rom.13:8-14


Summary :

-now is the time to awake
-owe no man anything but love
-put on Christ-do not continue in the deeds of darkness
-the church must do 3 things:
-raise up watchmen
-raise up warriors for Christ
-raise up followers of Christ
-we ought to live as though Christ will come any moment yet we must plan for our lives
-we must not however be swayed by the values & systems of this world
-as christians we should not compromise with the world
-the unbelievers will observe us to find any inconsistencies in our Christian walk & everyday life
-therefore, we must follow Christ as closely as possible
-sleep is defined as a state of inactivity
-many in the church have fallen into a state of spiritual slumber
-we must awake them as watchmen of the kingdom and get involved in God's kingdom
-we are living in times that are full of wickedness
-we must push back the tides of evil & wickedness as warriors in Christ
-we must commit ourselves today to God
-our concept of Christianity needs to be transformed as well
-if we say we love Christ, no inconvenience should prevent us doing the work of God
-our reason for going to church should be because we love God, not simply because it is Sunday
-we must be a stepping stone for Christ, not a stumbling stone
-we must serve & love one another as followers of Christ
-people expect more from Christians than from non-christians
-we need to be holy as the Lord is holy
